Market Trends: the market thermometer
Before focusing on one symbol, use this page to gauge the market's overall character today.
Put/Call volume ratio
A gauge showing the market-wide ratio of Put to Call volume. Lower ratios lean bullish and higher ratios lean bearish, with ranges labeled extremely bullish, bullish, neutral, and bearish.
Market-wide net premium
Is the market buying Calls or Puts on net today? A positive value is labeled Net Call buying, while a negative value is labeledNet Put buying. Trades at the Ask contribute positively and trades at the Bid contribute negatively; their sum is the net value.
Sector options flow
A comparative bar chart lists flow by sector. Each row represents one sector: green shows Call-side capital, red shows Put-side capital, and the value on the right is the net amount. Rows are sorted from most to least bullish.
- Green = Call, red = Put, and the value is the net amount.
Intraday net premium trend
A time-series chart shows how intraday net premium evolves, with three figures above it: net Call, net Put, and total net premium.
- Above zero = net Call buying.
- Below zero = net Put buying.
How to use this page
This page answers "Should I be more aggressive or conservative today?"—not "Which stock should I buy?" The P/C ratio and net premium establish the broad sentiment backdrop. Sector flow shows where capital is concentrated, while the intraday trend reveals whether that sentiment is stable or has just turned. When all three align, today's market character is usually clearer. When they conflict—for example, the P/C ratio is bullish while intraday net premium is turning sharply negative—sentiment may be shifting and extra caution is warranted.
